Practical Applications of Transfer Pricing Methods

Building up on sessions 3 and 4, this session will cover practical applications and examples of each Transfer Pricing method in the economic analysis.

Course Description:

It shall cover various benchmarking databases and conclude with economic analysis examples using safe harbour rules and guidelines for low value-adding services.

Target Audience:

This session is relevant to CFOs, Tax Professionals, CSPs, Accountants and Lawyers.

  • Selection of most appropriate method to determine ALP
  • Choice of tested parties for each method
  • A case study on Benchmarking analysis
  • Overview of leading platforms for benchmarking analysis
  • OECD Safe harbour guidelines
  • Overview of Low value-adding Services

Prerequisites:

A basic understanding of tax and accounting concepts are useful.

Reading Material:

  • OECD TP 2017 Guidelines (available for free reading online on the OECD website; against purchase if downloaded)
  • This session will be covering the below topics:
    • Example of each method
    • Benchmarking study
    • Databases
    • Safe harbour/low value-adding services
  • Prior required reading for each session: slidepack for and OECD TP Guidelines relevant to the session.
  • Additional reference material would be suggested during each session.
  • Slidepack for the given lecture will be distributed on the Wednesday prior to each lecture.
