With the current restrictions FHRD this year it will not be possible to hold the Annual HR conference, Malta’s largest HR related event. 

Instead, we will be running an online seminar on the 12th November to discuss the main challenges encountered due to the pandemic. 

The seminar agenda will consist of three main parts. 

The presentation of the 2020 HR Pulse survey, a virtual panel, and an international speaker concluding the event. 

It will also serve as an introduction and a launch to the 2021 HR Conference titled HR 2021: Beyond the Pandemic, scheduled for October 22nd 2021.

The survey, now in its sixth edition, this year focused on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted HR functions and the workforce in Malta. Rather than taking a thematic approach, this survey garned the local context reaction to the pandemic and the way forward for local organisations. The survey if a joint initiative between PwC Malta and FHRD.

The virtual panel will consist of panelists coming from different local economic sectors. The panel will discuss the main challenges currently being tackled, HR’s role, and the short/medium term strategies. In addition, it will also discuss the results of the HR 2020 Pulse Survey report, which FHRD runs every year and which will be presented by PwC before the panel session.

  • Visible Teamwork and Asynchronous Communication during COVID

This short talk will focus on identifying what team communication habits need to be developed in an organisation to make remote work sustainable. Pilar will explain the concept of Visible Teamwork through deliberate communication, work visibility and planned spontaneity. Application of all these concepts mostly in asynchronous ways will lead to truly flexible, sustainable online collaboration.
